Eye Rest Techniques

20-20-20 Rule

Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. This simple rule helps prevent eye fatigue from prolonged screen time.

Palming

Rub your hands together to warm them, then gently cup your palms over your closed eyes. Rest for 1-2 minutes in complete darkness. Deeply restorative for tired eyes.

Eye Circles

Without moving your head, look up, then slowly circle your eyes clockwise 5 times. Then circle counterclockwise 5 times. Releases tension in eye muscles.

Distance Gazing

Look out a window at the farthest point you can see. Hold your gaze there for 2-3 minutes. This relaxes the focusing muscles in your eyes.

Blinking Exercise

Blink rapidly 10 times. Close your eyes and rest for 20 seconds. Repeat 3 times. Helps refresh the tear film on your eyes.

Near-Far Focus

Hold your finger 10 inches from your face. Focus on it for 5 seconds. Then focus on something far away for 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times.
